Jeff Hepp was born in 1967 and has been fishing commercially his whole life. His first job was making nets for his uncles, the Castagnola brothers. Right now, he is targeting halibut, sea cucumbers, swordfish, and salmon (his true passion is catching salmon), but throughout his career he has fished for just about every species under the sun from pink shrimp to soupfin shark to white seabass to louvar to slime eels, Jeff has seen and done it all. Commercial fishing is deeply embedded in his family on both his mom and dad’s side, it’s also reflected in his nephew Henry (pictured left) who is a commercial lobster fisherman himself. To say fishing runs in his blood is an understatement!
